Deep crimson colour with ruby red hues. The wine has aromas of dusty mulberry, chocolate orange, Satsuma plum, violets and a hint of rubbed bay leaf. The palate is quite layered with some richness upfront with briary flavours of wild mulberry and blackcurrants. The back palate has controlled chalky tannins giving it a firm presence that needs time to mellow. There is more savouriness to this wine than in previous vintages and its complexity will build even more in time.
